Inselberg, the solo project crafted by Matthieu Canaguier, known as one vertex of the occult rock trinity Aluk Todolo, presents his latest creation, "Voyage d’hiver."

Like the writings of Gene, Valérie Valère's character obsessed with the absence of writing and the white horizons of emptiness, or the philosopher Peter Wessel Zapffe, who saw sublimation in the experience of mountaineering or the snowy, barren expanses of Norway, here, Inselberg musically transcribes a unique geographical exile - later accommodating eremitical immobility - which merges into his unique vision of a total metaphysical exile. A contemplative nomad on the steep slope that descends to the abyss at the bottom of things and moments, Inselberg transcribes in coldness and sublimation a journey more primordial, more daring, more perilous than even the most imaginative adventurer could dream. For it is not by traveling that man assumes the wandering status that has become his. Through this winter voyage, the quest for wide open spaces appears to us as an avatar of the quest for the Absolute, an unconscious nostalgic desire to surpass space through space.
Fullness in emptiness, a total fusion of mists and ruins.

This album serves as a contemplative exploration of a journey through the infinite winter. The composition unfolds in two distinct chapters — acoustic and amplified — offering an opus of subtle, organic, experimental folk drone music.
